It goes without saying, if you’d like to age gracefully you’d better pay attention to your skin. As women age our hormone levels change. Our oil glands that are responsible for naturally lubricating our skin, are starting to slow down. Our skin becomes less of a barrier against allergens and irritants. Even those who’ve enjoyed a life of healthy, non sensitive skin can experience skin irritation as she ages.
Theses are a few helpful hints at keeping your skin looking it’s best.
Exfoliate !!!! Exfoliation is key to minimizing fine lines and wrinkles as well as removing dry, dead flakes . I recommend that my clients exfoliate between 2-3 times a week. The type of exfoliant that you use is a topic for you and your esthetician based on your skin type and skin care goals.
Masque- Masqueing can be used to moisturize, calm, heal and nuture the skin. Just a few applications a week will dramatically increase the elasticity and health of your skin. Many masques contain vitamins and nutrients meant to “feed” the skin. There’s a huge selection of masques on the market and many don’t require much time. When your goal is softer, more luminous skin this is a step you cannot overlook.
Serums- serums are beauty elixirs that infuse skin with the most concentrated values of vitamins and herbs. The active ingredients plump and smooth skin to give it a youthful appearance.
Moisturizer -Hydrate and soften the skin with a moisturizer suited for your skin type. For day I recommend a moisturizer with a SPF of at least 30. Your evening moisturizer should not contain any SPF.
Enjoy !
